Day 11: TOMS RIVER, NJ TO READING, PA

Our journey’s eleventh day began at Shrewsbury VW in Tinton Falls, NJ. The owner Jack met us there bright and early. There was a nice VW Jetta with a fake license plate reading WOF. This refers to the city Wolfsburg, the hometown of Volkswagen in Germany. It’s okay to have these plates in the U.S, nonetheless we got a cool photo next to the ID. 4. We reached Flemington VW and the crew was looking clean matching in their white shirts. We took a nice picture with the crew and got back on the road. At Ciocca Volkswagen, the crew sported matching blue polos. It was very interesting to learn that a lot of Germans had resided in this region, in the 1800s. We stopped at one of the cemeteries where many of them had been buried. Our next stop was in Colmar, Pennsylvania. We then crossed the countryside. We came across a nice farmstead named Worcester Stables. In this countryside, the trees were very fascinating and had capped tops like mushrooms. Along the way, we met a nice woman named Judi. She was a romance novelist and had a very nice customized Beetle. Her custom eyelashes were pink and very stylish. The car also had customized pink decals on the side to match. Thanks for stopping for us, Judi! The ID. 4 next to it came out for a great picture. In the downtown areas, you see many movie theaters such as this old style theater that first opened to the public in 1928, in Wayne, PA. They are starting to open back up as of recently. We saw an Airstream trailer engulfed in tall grass and weeds. This vintage caravan trailer is famously recognized by the distinctive shape. They are out of commission and aren’t being made anymore making them especially rare. We made a quick stop at Jimmy John’s, a diner that opened in West Chester, PA, in the May of 1940. The roof of the restaurant reads “Famous for Frankfurters”. A play on the city Frankfurt in Germany. We would like to thank Kenny from Jeff Ambrosio VW. He gave us great support and was a fan of our project and tour in the ID. 4. We thank you so much for helping with our taxi situation. Later, in some neighborhoods we came across many deer. We spoke to some of the citizens and they said the deer have been coming around the area for over 10 years. They even get as close as 10m to you!
